Did orange juice used to come from COWS ?!?
I just bought a new brand of OJ - the label on it says "lactose free". WTF?? I hope it's trans fat free too, or I'm in big twouble!!
And if so, what does it mean when it's "fresh squeezed"?
No, you are not in trouble... It probably said "lactose free" because so many things we eat and drink nowadays have additives of all sorts, and lactose is one of the most used (sometimes in foodstuffs that we would never imagine), the OJ you bought was labeled that way just to be safe!
My little nephew is allergic to all lactose derivatives, and we have to check out every single thing we buy for him. He is so intolerant of milk products, that if we eat a piece of cheese and give him a kiss on the cheek he breaks out in a rash!
Lactose intolerance is becoming more and more common, which is one of the reasons the labeling includes this information.
