How can I prevent kidney stone removal unnecessary?
I'm in the hospital because I have a kidney stone. The pain disappeared and I can keep food down now I feel almost back to my normal state. I think I may have passed the stone (I not strain my urine all) How can I avoid getting an unnecessary procedure done?
Much depends on what type of stone it is. If your diet is rich in red meat and other saturated fatty acids, which basically means all animal protein, it is probably a stone of uric acid and they can be dissolved with a very alkaline diet, but it takes a long time. Calcium stones are very common and are often caused by too much oxalate in foods such as tomatoes, beets and a few others, and these calcium oxalate stones can be dissolved with the lemon juice and apple cider vinegar.
