why am i not getting buffer, cut, or losing fat?
ive been going to the gym and taking kickbox cardio and boxing cardio 5 days a week all classes an hour long...i mean we do a lot of push ups (which i die after like 10), situps, lunges, squats, dumbells, heavy bag, you name it! youd think after 2-3 months youd see some improvement. ive only dropped 5 pounds in the first week, but nothing after that. I also drank isopure Zero Carb bottled drinks that have 40g of protien after every single workout. im 19, 200lb, and 5'9..
I cant say i eat very well in any day because Mcdonalds is literally next door but since the classes are at 7p.m. and 8p.m. i have totally cut food after the classes, thats why i just took the isopure drink, instead of the meal...
So let me get this straight:
You are working out for an hour a day, 5 days of the week, for a couple of months.
You are neither gaining weight, losing weight, or seeing any change in the composition of your weight (more muscle, less fat).
You "die" after 10 pushups.
You take 40g of protein after working out.
I would suggest you do the following:
- First of all, keep a careful record of your weight from one day to the next, and pay attention to the long term trend. Just to make sure you notice changes if they happen.
- Don't take a "zero carb", 40g of Protein Drink after a workout, eat a complete meal. The protein in the drinks is being converted into sugar by the body to replenish sugar reserves in your muscles, leaving no protein left to build them up.
- Take a look at your diet overall. What are you eating the rest of the time? The only way to Lose Fat is to eat less. You can't really exercise your fat off (technicaly you can, but it doesn't really work). The only way to Build Muscle is to eat more (while stressing the muscles). The body will steal protein from one part of the body to help improve another, but unless you are in a significant calorie surplus, it won't build new muscle.
