HEEEELP! Is açaí berry allowed at Phase 1 and 2 in South Beach Diet?
I'm planning to start this diet but this is a critical point for me. Here in Brazil I eat a lot of Açaí berry as it is part of the culture. I do not follow any fashion diet or food (here this fruit isn't a miraculously advertised/industry manipulation product as in North America) it's just a daily habit for me eating it, so would be tough to avoid it.
The berry is processed and frozen and it has has, per 4 oz, about 1 oz of carbs, 0.10 oz of total fat. Also as known it is great for cholesterol and a 4 oz serving can give you almost 20% of daily needs of fiber. South Beach Diet isn't popular here and its lists about allowed food isn't very clear for local availability.
So, can I? If I can, what's the quantity (in volume)? Will I have to sacrifice anything?

wow... you got 5 advertisement answers... thats kind of sad... im sorry... lol hey, i live in brazil aswell! ummm... im not exactly sure if you can actually eat acai while on the south beach diet... BUT, there is this other diet that does workand im pretty sure you WILL be able to eat you r acai... lol, ok, so here it goes: the clean diet. The thing is, you just dont eat processed foods, i know yousaid the acai was processed, but im sure it doesnt contain too many hamful chemicals which is what your hetting away from... so, here is WHY you shouldnt eat those chemicals: you liver. It has many jobs, two of which are getting rid of toxins and chemicals (which is priority) and another is burning fat. yeah, so if its too busy with the toxins, it wont burn fat... mhm... nice huh... lol. Another thing is: eat every three hours, you need to get your metabolism going, that way it will easily get rid of any excess fat youve been eating (i personally used to have a crappy metabolism and whenever i ate a little more than usual, i would gain weight, but i recently sliped and ate SO MUCH, and i weigh the same if not a little less... lol, i wont keep on over-eating though but you know what i mean)
